The Samaritan's Purse Project (Part 1)
The club sometimes gets requests from other community groups including nursing homes and charities for production of various therapeutic activity items including games and everyday objects.
The Samaritan's Purse Project Part 1
The club is currently working on some items for a Samaritan's purse project. This has involved the use of recycled timber from a local school which then been resized, cut, drilled and shaped to make a range of small wooden cars and trains suitable for the placement in the small shoe box size containers for their Operation Christmas Child. The photos on the left show club members actively transforming the raw timber into the finished vehicles. They will be delivered soon to the charity and then we will shortly commence work on a series of French knitting spools for inclusion in the shoe box. We handed over the 52 completed trains and toy cars at our July 22 meeting to members from the Samaritan's Purse Project and they were delighted with them. |
